TOUR DETAILS (proposed ... may change slightly)
We visit Machu Picchu in the morning with a SP Ceremony at the site. Machu Picchu’s builders
harmonized architecture and sacred geography, framing views of nearby mountains in doorways
and windows and carving some stones to echo the mountain’s shapes. We take a late-afternoon
train back to Ollantaytambo and transfer to a private bus that takes us to Don Theo’s retreat
center, La Casona de San Jeronimo, on the outskirts of Cusco. This beautiful hacienda built by
Don Theo’s grandfather has been transformed into a healing center, including rooms with private
baths, wonderfully prepared Peruvian meals, saunas, and beautiful gardens.
You will want to sleep in. This is a free day. Shopping in Cusco with Pepe or on your own is an
option. There is an evening meeting to deepen our journey with an informal group Q&A with Don
Theo and Pepe.
We leave in the morning for Tres Cruces de Oro, “Three Crosses of Gold.” We will be transported
by private transport, arriving during the afternoon to this special place on the edge of the
Amazon rain forest. We share an evening on top of this beautiful mountain.
We awaken before dawn to celebrate sunrise, where the special optics of the earth’s curvature
from this altitude provide a spectacular show of the sun. Don Theo will guide us in meditation
here, as we work in ceremony (SP). We travel back to Cusco by bus, stopping in Paucartambo for
lunch. We return for dinner at Poqen Kanchay, our home in Peru.

We arrive in Cusco, the ancient center of the Incan Empire and
travel by private bus to the Sacred Valley along the Urubamba
River. We spend our first night at the Royal Pisaq Inca Hotel
located between Cusco and Machu Picchu. With a view of
surrounding mountains, guests can dine on freshly prepared
Peruvian cuisine and take advantage of the center’s facilities.
Lunch is served on our arrival and sleep is encouraged for the
remainder of the day. We conclude our evening with a Despacho
Ceremony, introducing our hosts and group members.
The day will be spent hiking and enjoying spectacular views
amidst the temple of Pisaq in the Sacred Valley, one of the most
beautiful Incan sites. We are initiated into the world of Andean
mysticism in a ceremony (SP) with Don Theo and Pepe. If time
allows, we make a brief stop at the local open-air market in Pisaq.
Visit Ollantaytambo, one of the oldest continually inhabited
pueblos of the Incas to work with the spirit of the wind. Wander
the streets of this pueblo filled with adobe houses built upon
original Incan stone work. We take a guided tour of the sacred
temple site. We leave on an afternoon train to Machu Picchu,
“The Crystal City,” whose buildings and terraces spill over a
ridge hundreds of meters above the rushing Urubamba River.
After checking into our hotel, we enjoy the hot spring of Aquas
Calientes.

We visit the National park of
Saqsayhuaman, the largest and
one of the most intriguing of the
Incan sites in Cusco, including
Quenko, Puca Pucara and Tambo
Machay. We will visit Cusco for a
shopping opportunity. We return
to Poqen Kanchay to pack for our
meditation retreat over the next
four days.

Cusco – Cachora. Meditation Retreat: We leave Cusco by bus
in the morning to Don Theo’s private retreat that faces the
glacier-covered sacred mountains of El Patrón and Salcantay.
We will have the opportunity to see several unique sacred
sites along the way. Our retreat will focus on working with
sacred plants (A) in ceremony and relaxing in this beautiful
paradise near Choquequirau, one of the largest Inca sites in
southern Peru. We return to Poqen Kanchay on our last day.
